Hubster’s French Toast

I call this Hubster’s French Toast because hubby is actually the one who makes this for me.  I love his french toast because it’s not soggy and like the right chewiness of it.  He normally uses french baguette bread for this but this time I told him I will try to make it and will use Challah or brioche bread.  What I did was bought the bread 2 days earlier because it is better if the bread is a few days old.

Ingredients:

  • A loaf of brioche bread (best to buy 2 days earlier)
  • 6 eggs OR 8 eggs (4 with yolks & 4 just whites)
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup of non-fat milk
  • unsalted butter

Mixed Fruits:

  • 1/2 – 1 cup of each fresh raspberries, strawberries, blueberries & blackberries
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 lemon
  • non-fat whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix eggs, milk, vanilla & cinnamon using fork & set aside
  2. Slice the bread into about an inch thickness
  3. Spread butter on each side of the sliced bread
  4. Dip the sliced bread into the egg mixture
  5. Butter the pan & start frying the dipped sliced bread
  6. In another bowl, mix in fruits, squeeze the half a lemon & sugar
  7. Once cooked, plate it with the mixed fruits topped with the whipped cream & side of turkey bacon.
  8. Enjoy.
