Healthy Smoothie

I used to make healthy smoothies everyday.  Not to be skinny, which I am not, but to cleanse my system and get the right vitamins in a traditional way.  It also helps me regulate and definitely suppresses my hunger or cravings for junk foods.  I got busy for a bit but not good enough reason to not make it everyday so I am now back to putting it in my daily routines.  It is best making it in the morning.

I blend veggies and fruits to balance out the sugar contents of the fruits.  So be very careful.  It doesn’t mean you eat lots of fruits that it’s good for you.  It still have tons of sugar.

You can pretty much mix in whatever fruits and veggies you like.  To make it easier, I buy the salad mixes they sell in the grocery stores.  Just check out what’s in it.  I normally get the ones with spinach, chard, kale & arugula.  Then you can add carrots, beets, celery, apples, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc… then I make sure to add chia seeds & flax seeds.

I blend them all with whatever natural juices I have or want.  I normally use 100% natural coconut water or probiotic juices.  I do not use juicer anymore.  I want to include the meat or pulps of the fruits and veggies because I think those are additional fibers and tastes heartier that it makes you feel full for a while.

Right now, these are what I have….

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples, roughly chopped
  • 1 or 2 carrots, roughly chopped
  • 2-3 small celery stalks, roughly chopped
  • 1-2 Tbsp ginger, chopped
  • couple handful of salad greens
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 Tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • 2 cups coconut water

Instructions:

  1. Put all the ingredients in the blender
  2. You may add more juice if you want it more lose
  3. Pour in a glass & garnish with a veggie or a sliced fruit you like
  4. Enjoy
